Are Hisense Fridges Good? The Good, Bad & Ugly

Are Hisense reliable refrigerators?

Hisense fridges are reliable and versatile. They come with many added features to improve quality and trustability. Their energy ratings are below average, but they come at more affordable prices and plenty of storage options.

How long does a Hisense fridge last?

Hisense fridges have a life expectancy of 10 to 15 years. This is pretty average for most fridge brands.

Of course, how long your fridge lasts will also depend on how well you maintain it. Keep up on routine maintenance, and don’t misuse the product. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines and tips, and your fridge should last long.

Energy rating

An energy rating tells you how much electricity your fridge will use. This can impact utility bill costs. If a fridge uses more energy, it costs you more money in the long run.

How much electricity a fridge uses also impacts the environment. Using less energy, it also produces fewer greenhouse gases that harm our environment.

An Energy Efficiency Rating is what tells us how much or how little electricity a fridge uses. Energy efficiency is determined by kWh or kilowatt-hour. Kilowatt-hour tells us the amount of energy your fridge uses in an hour.

The energy efficiency rating goes by a letter scale A-G. A is the most energy-efficient, and G is the least energy efficient.

Most Hisense fridges have an F rating with a sparse few E or D ratings. So, in terms of energy efficiency, not your best option.

Styles

Along with an abundance of extra features, Hisense fridges also come with style options.

Basic Free-Standing Fridge Freezers

They offer the basic single-door fridge on top with a single-door freezer on the bottom. Classic and simple, this style is good for people with little kitchen space and low budgets.

American-Style Fridge Freezers

Looking for the popular side-by-side layout? They’ve got that too. On one side you have a fridge and on the other a freezer.

Multi-Door Layout

This style features four doors. A double-door fridge on top and a double-door freezer on the bottom. Usually, one side of the freezer can be converted into an extra fridge section.

Also available is a double-door fridge with a pull-out freezer below. Some fridges also have a middle pull-out section that can be used as a fridge or freezer section, depending on your needs.

Fridges Without Freezers

Just a single-doored fridge. Some of them come with ‘freezer sections’ inside them. Some are also sized to go under the counter for tight spaces.

They sell fridges in silver, black, and white. A retro collection also contains fridges in different shades of red sporting a more old-fashioned look. The PureFlat series offers sleek, clean, and modern-looking fridges.

Storage space

Hisense fridge capacities range from as low as 138 litres to as high as 606 litres. So, no matter your storage needs, you have options.

Offering widths from 55 cm to a little over 91 cm and heights from 81 cm to just over 200, sizes are versatile.

Not to mention, many of their fridges offer convertible freezer/fridge zones that can be switched from one to the other at your convenience.

Pricing

Hisense fridge pricing ranges from £219 to £1,899.

The ones on the lower end of the spectrum are smaller, have fewer doors and features. They tend to not come with freezers.

On the other hand, the more expensive ones are the larger, multi-door ones. They come with tons of features and are more often stainless steel.

However, there are options below the £500 mark that offer a separate freezer, a water dispenser, and they still have the no frost technology.

What do customers say about Hisense fridges?

Most ratings are positive, with nearly all of them four stars and above. Most reviews complement the storage capacity and design of the fridges as well as special features like the Triple Zone Cooling.

Hisense vs Samsung fridges

Durability: Both Hisense and Samsung are reputable brands known for creating quality products. Samsung is more widely known in the appliance industry. Because of this, Samsung fridges have more controversy surrounding them.

You’ll find more negative reviews about malfunctions and product longevity for Samsung fridges. Now, whether or not that’s due to having more reviews overall or simply because they are less durable isn’t known.

But Hisense fridges are known to be quite reliable.

Keeping Food Fresh: Overall, both fridges do a good job of keeping food fresh and come with various features to help them do so.

Energy Efficiency: Hisense fridges aren’t very energy efficient. Especially compared to Samsung, which has many products rated highly on the energy efficiency scale.

Price: Samsung fridges are generally more expensive than Hisense fridges.
