In this post we’ll be revealing useful and cool ideas on how to use your leftover quartz countertop, what to do with the remnants and how to repurpose that slab piece.
Let’s kick this thing off with the first one…
Table of Contents
1. Small table
Imagine how magnificent a small table or maybe even a coffee table would look made from quartz? Of course, the size of the table might depend on the amount of quartz you have leftover. But you’ll have to decide if the results are worthwhile. I think they would be, the quartz patterns would look stunning.
Add some style to your living room, but also design cohesion between rooms. This is even better if you live in an open-plan home. Some people might not make the connection immediately that the coffee/side table and kitchen counter or bathroom countertop are made from the same materials if the rooms are separated. In an open-plan space, it’s a bit more obvious.

2. Shelves
Who doesn’t need shelves? That’s right, no matter who you are, you need shelves! So why not make and install some shelves of your own around the house wherever necessary. For example, maybe you need somewhere to store spices in your kitchen or in the bathroom for products, a mini-bookshelf?
The options truly are endless! Whatever you need a shelf for, you now can just make it a great DIY project. This type of project is easy to do, and the end result is beneficial no matter how many shelves you have in your home already.
3. Cutting board
We all use cutting boards, we hope, to avoid damaging the surface of our kitchen countertops. There’s no rule against quartz on quartz, so why not fashion yourself a cutting board out of quartz? You’ll be able to go wild on the same surface as underneath the board without worrying about ruining your expensive and beautiful countertops!
Like pretty much everything on this list, it’s easy to make and so worth having. You’ll have a fancy, sturdy, durable, and easy-to-clean cutting board that matches your kitchen aesthetic. You’ll really look like you know what’s going on in your kitchen, thanks to the presence of such design cohesion!
4. Cheese Platter
Get a little fancy with your leftover quartz by creating a cheese platter. In fairness, it doesn’t have to be exclusively for cheese. You can create a platter for anything and everything. Then, when you host your next dinner party, you can serve the snacks on fancy platters and make all your neighbors jealous and have them ask where you got these fantastic platters from – little do they know, it’s your own creation!
You can go for that rustic farmhouse look with jagged edges and rugged rims or the sleek design with more intentionally straight edges. Enjoy your cheese platter, snack platter, charcuterie board, whatever you want on a stunning quartz original serving platter.
5. Coasters
There are some really lovely coasters out there, but are they made of quartz? And did you make them? Suppose you’ve got leftovers from your countertop installation. Why not make some coasters for people’s drinks for your living room and give your coffee table some extra protection.
Coasters are so easy to make that it won’t take you long at all to produce enough for your entire home and maybe even the neighbourhood! Depending on how much quartz you have left, of course.
6. Bookends
Who doesn’t have books in their home? That’s right, hopefully, no one! So why not get a bit creative with your bookshelf and create some excellent bookends with your leftover quartz stone?
You can get creative with the cutting of shapes and sizes and add some additional character to your bookshelf that wasn’t there before. Not only will it just look better, but now your books won’t fall all over the place thanks to the sturdy quartz bookends you created in a matter of moments.
7. Mantle or Hearth Improvements
We all know that quartz can take a little heat, so why not look at improving or adding a lovely quartz fireplace mantle? Have your television hovering over the sturdy quartz acting as a barrier between the electronic device and the heat from the fire. Alternatively, throw up some family photos or other decorative items to tie the room together definitely.
Similarly, you can create an exceptionally designed hearth at the base of your fireplace to add some fancy aesthetic characteristics to your fireplace. Sit in the comfort of your living room and watch the flicker of the flame dance on the newly quartz hearth of your fireplace.
8. Stacked Fountain
Not everything you can do with leftover quartz needs to be practical or useful. Why not something purely for aesthetic purposes? Stacked fountains are always pretty additions to a garden or welcome area. They’re simplistic in theory, although they require a little bit of tinkering to create, install, and get running.
The end result of such a DIY project is something tranquil and aesthetically pleasing for you and your guests. It really adds a bit of charm to your garden, and depending on how much leftover quartz you have left, you can make a few in varying shapes. It will be a rock garden amongst the garden.
